How It All Began...

Years ago, I made a bold decision to move from the tiny island 
of Singapore to the United States to pursue my dreams of becoming a world-class graphic designer. I studied at
 Art Institute of Boston, won the Senior Exhibition Award and was offered a job at one of Massachusetts’s top award-winning branding agency called Tank Design in Cambridge where I designed for high-profile global and national clients.

Life was good for a while but I slowly couldn’t help but feel something was missing. I felt somewhat disconnected to my work serving big faceless corporations and that my job lacked real purpose and meaning. I felt like a hamster running on a wheel mindlessly and knew deep inside that life was more than this safe but soul-sucking routine.

When I finally moved back to Singapore after 7 years, I decided 
it was time to embrace the unknown, take matters into my own hands, and find a way to build a business and life I love no matter what it takes.

The Obstacles

My passion for traveling and desire for a location-independent business led me to venture into the fascinating world of online businesses and personal brands. After joining Marie Forleo’s 
B-school in 2013, I launched a WordPress template shop for creatives and lifestyle bloggers called The Blog Spa and this eventually gave me opportunities to design for ambitious heart-led female coaches and course creators. I worked for inspiring clients like Susan Hyatt and D’Arcy Benincosa, and really loved what I did.

But, the journey was still a bumpy ride. Even though I could easily design beautiful-looking websites for clients, my own business suffered from a lack of leads and ideal clients. I often had to take on work that was a bad fit for me and was also afraid to charge premium prices despite knowing I did high quality work. I ended up getting trapped in a frustrating feast-and-famine cycle that I was desperate to break. I needed to figure out how to design websites that not only look gorgeous but are also effective in getting consistent quality leads and sales because ultimately, that is what makes a business profitable and sustainable!

Some Fun Facts!

I’m crazy about dogs. I have a very cute miniature dachshund called Whoopy.

I love to travel and have visited about 185 cities in 31 countries so far. 

I rather read a book than watch TV. In fact, there is no TV in my apartment.

Enneagram 4w5 INFJ. Personality tests have shown that my mind is 50% creative / 50% logical.
